We arrived here around 5pm local time on Tuesday Novemeber 15th & walked out of the plane with our eyes fixed on the scenic views from the airport windows. The weather was overcast & rainy & we were all dressed in summer gear - expecting hot conidtions. #EpicFail (Twitter lingo for those who dont know!)
Needless to say, the next three days that followed proved to be a challenge for me & my mostly summer apparel....EEK! However, while we were left wanting in the weather department - we most certainly were not lacking in the family department! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with open arms & hearts by the brasilian people. Ronaldo, Danny, Claudio, Joe & everyone here has taken us into their homes & made us feel sooo welcome. I am staying with a young lady from Ronaldo´s church, Renata, & she is amazing. Being here & staying with her is like coming home. How amazing that God can work in people´s hearts & draw them to each other through the working of His Holy Spirit which is in us. Because all of us are in Christ we are not only new creations, but brothers & sisters who share the same Father & spiritual DNA! What a Selah truth. #PonderOnThat
Everyday a few of our hosts have been travelling with us & taking us ´Gringos´ (foreigners) to different touristy places as well as local hang outs. One place in particular that has been awesome for me, has to be the Havaianas factory shop (feel free to be slightly jealous - then repent & move on LOL!). All the shoes were marked down & it was shop-til-you-drop for all of us....even Uncle Billy aka William Marais or The Silver Fox.
Then last night we met together & Uncle Will shared about the importance of communicating with God in order to fulfill the destiny He has set out for each one of us. The only way to fulfill God´s plan for our lives, is to hear what He wants us to do & do it. And the only way to hear from God is to have a healthy prayer life & walk in obedience to Him. The word was challenging & motivating at the same time, many were touched & expectations are rising for an awesome conference this weekend.
On a final note - just as things in the spirit are heating up - so too is the weather! Forecast shows warmer days are coming & we can all say AMEN to that!
